About the event

The earliest recording of Cannabis being used for women’s health was the 9th century. Translations of Arab, Persian, and Chinese texts say that women used the juice of cannabis seeds to treat migraines, calm uterine pains, prevent miscarriage as well as ease labor. Today, the herb is still considered a valuable healing aid in Indian Ayurvedic medical practice and is regularly used by many cultures around the globe.

Since the beginning of Maine’s Medical Marijuana program, women here have found the herb to be helpful for issues specific to them. In our class, Cannabis & Women’s Health, we share ideas for using cannabis to create balance and wellness during different phases of your life. Hear and share stories of the personal journey women have taken in managing their health by incorporating cannabis. We will explore using cannabis to relieve common ailments associated with stress/anxiety, menstruation, menopause, low libido and insomnia. Explore the different options available today for consumption based on your lifestyle.

Key takeaways:

Understanding the role of the Endocannabinoid Systems in creating balance;

The pros & cons of using Cannabis;

Options for dosing methodologies;

Lifestyle choices for busy women when utilizing cannabis for health.
