CANNABIS FOR PAIN MANAGEMENT, INSOMNIA & ANXIETY - July 26
Time & Location
About The Event
Pain, insomnia, and anxiety are common aliments for which pharmaceuticals are prescribed. These three conditions are tightly intertwined yet are often treated separately. If you have one, two, or all three of these symptoms you are likely to take medications for each.
Dr. Michael Moskowitz who specializes in chronic pain and is the author of “Medical Cannabis: A Guide for Patients, Practitioners and Caregivers” conducted a case study of 157 of his own patients. The study began in January 2016 and looked at cannabis as a medicine for pain, stress and sleep. It showed that 87 percent reported less pain and 81.5 percent reported better sleep over an 18-month period. The patients ranged in age from 20 to 99, with most over 50. Most were white; two-thirds were female.
Cannabis for health is a different approach as it treats the whole person to promote better sleep, lower stress and pain reduction.
In this class we are going to address incorporating THC & CBD into your health plan. The same dose of cannabis can have a multiprong effect. For example, cannabis does not act like sleeping pills, which are hypnotic drugs. Instead, it is an agent that reduces symptoms which interfere with sleep, such as pain, and anxiety. There are many choices for dosing options, from different delivery methods (respiratory, digestive, sublingual, & topical) to creating different formulations that work best for you (amount of mgs per dose, THC:CBD ratios, & micro-dosing). Cannabis is a natural medicine which works with your body to promote wellness by assisting your body with a healing response.
